This year, on the 21st April 2016, our longest reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II will be celebrating her 90th birthday.
To celebrate her birthday, and after being inspired by David Attenboroughs 90th birthday abseil down Cambridge Universities conservation building, that was named after him, we thought we would put together 10 rather bizarre ideas for what The Queen could do to celebrate her birthday in style. After all, her 2012 London Olympics cameo performance next to James Bond was nothing short of inspired.
Perform with Queen
The obvious idea we know but still how amazing would it be to see. Brian May has already performed “God Save The Queen” on the roof of Buckingham Palace in 2002 so why not take it to the next level and get The Queen involved?
Abseil
Well if David Attenborough did it at 90, so could the Queen. Now we just need somewhere to abseil from... “Afternoon tea and an abseil Ma’am?”
Cameo in a music video
This could actually happen as it’s less risky than an abseil. Imagine the LMFAO “Sexy and I know it video” with the addition of The Queen? She could be in disguise, pumping iron and we’d never even know.
Play tennis at Wimbledon
Again, why not? Just before the final, The Queen comes on and hits a couple of blistering backhanders down the line past Andy Murray and the crowd goes wild.
Star in the Great British Bake Off
This we would pay to see. The Queen rustles up the finest cake in the Showstopper Challenge and blows Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood away.
Star in Gogglebox
How amazing would it be to see The Queen and Prince Phillip, sipping sherry and giving their opinions on the week’s programmes? It would be TV gold. They could replace ‘The Posh Couple’ for an episode - this needs to happen!
Be a Queen lookalike
How about the ultimate prank. The Queen attends an event pretending to be a lookalike of herself and fools everybody into thinking she’s just a lookalike. Imagine the faces, we can!
Host Have I Got News For You
Do we have to say anymore? We didn’t think so.
Perform in Crufts
We would love The Queen to enter one of her Corgi’s into the agility competition. Again, imagine her running around the arena, guiding her royal companion through the agility course. We’re not sure she’ll beat any times, but the performance will be worthy of a rapturous applause from the audience.
Perform at the Royal Variety Show
The Royal Variety Show has entertained senior members of the royal family since the 1910’s, but never has a royal ever performed. Maybe this year is the year!
