Have a Laugh

Laughter really is the best medicine and not only is it free, but it will give your energy levels a boost too. So get your funniest friend round for a giggle, put on the funniest move you can find or YouTube an amusing clip on the internet to put a smile back on your face.

Have a Smooch 

Research has revealed that locking licks actually has the ability to improve our mood. This is because it encourages our brain to release a feel-good chemical known as oxytocin, which helps improve the bond we have with our partner as well as makes us feel a whole lot happier. Kissing is also proven to reduce levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, in our bodies to help our minds relax. 

Have a Dance

The soothing sounds of classical music has been known to slow down our heart rate as well as reduce blood pressure levels and the feeling of stress. If, however you don’t happen to have any Mozart or Beethoven at hand, crank up your favourite tune on your journey home to unwind after a busy day or sing out loud for all to hear – you’ll feel better for it and who knows, you might even cheer someone else up too! If you can sing of course.

Have a Soak

Water is a well-known de-stressor so draw yourself a hot bubble bath at home or treat yourself to a day at the spa. Pour in some essential oils then sit back and relax as the scents and soothing sounds of the water relax your body, mind and soul.

Whenever you start to feel overwhelmed by the world around you, take a moment to count your blessings and focus on the positive things in your life. You’ll be surprise how quickly your mood will change!
