Wrapping Advice
You don’t want to get to the post office and realise you’ve packed your parcel in the incorrect bag, delaying your sending and running the risk of late delivery.

* For packages that are an unconventional shape or have sharp edges, use a padded envelope to prevent damage in transit.
* Write a return address on the item so it isn’t lost if it doesn’t make it to the recipient.
* When posting fragile items, ensure they’re not touching each other or the side of the container they are being posted in. Include a ‘FRAGILE’ sticker if necessary.
* Ensure the container you are using is strong enough to support the weight of its contents.
For more tips head to the Royal Mail Sending Fragile Items page.
Choosing the Correct Postage Option
Royal Mail have a helpful size guide to help you decide what price your letter or parcel will cost, depending on the weight. It’s worth looking at this before posting your item so you have an insight into how much the postage will be before sending your item/s.
The guide also shows the maximum weight, length, weight and thickness of each kind of item. The full guide can be found here.
