On 4th March, Employee Appreciation Day is officially upon us and as a family run business, appreciating our employees is exactly what we try to do. Let us introduce you to some of the staff at Dom and Geri that help make our company what it is:
Dom (Dad Dom) – Dom is the patriarch of the Dom and Geri family; the glue that holds everything together. He oversees day to day operations and helps with big business decisions. With roots in traditional print, Dom and Geri was born from a conversation between him and his son, Young Dom. They could see the potential in creating a personalised wrapping paper and card company that would use Dad Dom’s expertise in the printing business. The rest is history!
Why we appreciate him: He’s a great boss, friendly and approachable and makes us laugh.
Dom (Young Dom) – Dom, who we affectionately refer to as ‘young Dom’ is about to graduate from Newcastle University. He’s a Marketing guru that has a real passion for driving our awareness on social platforms, with a keen eye for attention to detail. He’s a rugby fan
Why we appreciate him: He has creative flair and a key understanding of where our company is headed over the next few years. He also makes a great cup of tea!
Geri – Slightly older than Young Dom, Geri is a fantastic organiser, creator and all-round ‘do-er’. She has a degree in textiles and as well as working for Dom and Geri, she also runs her very own designer handbag company, Fibre and Hide, which allows her to show off her creative flair and love for all things handmade. At Dom and Geri, she is the brains behind many new of the designs and gift ranges.
Why we appreciate her: Geri is a quieter character to Young Dom but we love her level-headed approach and eye for detail.
Caroline – our Social Media lady and graphic designer, Caroline has been with us for 4 years and is a great asset to the team. If you phone us, use our live chat system or email us, you’ll probably find Caroline is the one that responds. Now a proud mum, Caroline juggles work and home life very well and she is always working hard! She’s also a Bradford Bulls fan and there’s a bit of rivalry between her and our accountant Kim (a Leeds Rhinos fan).
Why we appreciate her: She’s super helpful, organised and keeps the boys in check!
Kieran - Another long-standing employee, Kieran is a graphic designer who helps us with card, wrapping paper and banner designs. He is also mainly responsible for printing customer orders and organising deliveries. Without him, well, we don’t know what we’d do!
Why we appreciate him: He’s friendly disposition and bad jokes always make us smile J
Kim – our company accountant, Kim, is our go-to lady for all accounts queries. A much quieter member of the team, you’ll find her collating invoices or helping Dad Dom with his queries. In her spare time, Kim enjoys sitting down and watching star trek and supporting the Leeds Rhinos rugby team. She can’t resist watching them men running around in their shorts!
Why we appreciate her: Her number crunching skills are invaluable!
